A trip and lunch with Kayla!

Seattle was beautiful, but I am so happy I live here in Utah. I love all four seasons and the beautiful mountains that surround us. Today I had the amazing opportunity to meet and talk to Miss Utah, Kayla Barclay. She told me all about what her year has entailed and how she is getting ready for Miss America. She is so kind and generous. I am so lucky to have her as my "Miss". She will be a great representative for Utah at the Miss America Pageant in January. - Meredith

Lunch today was so fun! We went to Mimi's Cafe and had yummo food. Mimi's is one of my favorite places and I always look forward to the complimentary bread basket, full of homemade rolls and pumpkin bread. Well today- we weren't greeted with that delicious basket and I asked our waiter "why?!" He gave me a spill about the economy and how it was NOT economical to keep giving out free bread. Well I looked him straight in the eye and told him who he was 'serving.' "Do you know you are a waiter to royalty?" I asked. He shook his head, no. "This is Miss Utah and Teen Miss Utah and we would love some bread." He then smiled and talked to the queens, blushed a bit and 5 minutes later (maybe more like 3) he brought us each our own plate of tasty bread. Thanks Jareth at Mimi's, you made our day!! It was funny. And THANKS to Cynthia (Mere's amazing Mom) for treating us, great idea!
