A BIG ENTRY!

Ah, what a crazy few months it has been! I have been so busy, that I have neglected my blog, but I promise to be better. I have had so many fabulous opportunities. First off, I was able to go to and cheer on Miss Utah, Kayla Barclay in Las Vegas at the Miss America competition. Kayla was phenomenal in all aspects of her competition. I admire her so much! She is such a fantastic role model to me and to all girls. Miss America week was a blast. I got to meet all of the 2008 Outstanding Teen titleholders, including Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Taylor Fitch, and have lunch and do an autograph signing with them. Mckenna Lewis (Miss Utah’s Outstanding Teen 2008) was there, and I got to catch up and talk a lot with her. She is also a fabulous girl! I was able to meet a lot of the former Miss America’s, and that was really exciting. Watching the final night of Miss America was amazing. It is so different seeing it live. If you don’t already know, Miss Indiana Katie Stam is the new Miss America. All in all, Miss America week was fantastic! I loved every minute of it.

In February, I made an appearance at the Miss Eagle Mountain pageant. It was a fun pageant to watch, their set was darling. I also was invited to attend the Miss UVU pageant. Kayla and I got to sit next to each other and catch up.

Mrs. Utah, Emily Nelson, hosted a Princess Tea party to raise money for her platform, Project Lemonade. I attended with Kayla. We both wore hats and dressed in our best tea party attire. This was such a fun and memorable event for me. I love being able to talk to all of the little girls and see their eyes light up when I ask them about their favorite princess. I am so excited for the next month. I can’t wait!

I spoke at a Young Women’s New Beginnings in Helper, Utah this last Sunday. The girls were so sweet and so kind! And the dessert they served after was delicious! -Meredith
