On the 6th of January I met with Kerry Brinhurst from Utah Public Radio, to record a broadcast on bullying. I spoke with her about my plans to implement the Buddy Box around the state of Utah. I was also able to share with her the positive results that schools have seen by using the Buddy Box, so far.
Principal, Curt Hanks and Counselor, Mike Jones from White Pine Middle School were there to share their experiences with the Buddy Box and the students they have been able to help by using it in their school.
I was so happy to be able to share my views on bullying and how the Buddy Box can be used to get students the help they need with this wide spread problem. The Buddy Box can also be used to help a friend that is dealing with a variety of other issues such as depression, drugs, underage drinking, abuse, etc. It is important that students receive help for their problems so that they can live happy, successful lives.
The broadcast can be listened to on http://www.upr.org/ under the tab, January 15th!
Also on that day, I went to Logan High School and presented the Buddy Box to a group of students. The presentation was filmed by teacher Scott Harris and his advanced video students. Then later on in the afternoon we filmed the elementary section of the DVD at Millville Elementary in Audrey Wiberg's fourth grade class. They asked alot of questions, and were so excited to see the Buddy Box put into there school.
